Bleu Cheese Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely crumbled blue cheese
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives
  • 4 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 tsp mustard
  • 4 tsp ketchup
  • 4 tsp mayonnaise
  • 1 cup arugula
  • 4 thick slices tomato
  • 4 slices red onion rounds
Directions

  1. In large mixing bowl, mix together beef, egg, bread crumbs, blue cheese, chives, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt and pepper (do not overwork). Divide into 4 portions; shape into 1/2-inch thick patties.
  2. Preheat grill to medium-high; grease grate well. Grill burgers for 10 to 12 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F. Meanwhile, grill buns for about 1 minute or until lightly toasted.
  3. Arrange burgers on buns; top with mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, arugula, tomato and onion.

Tips


Brioche-style buns work nicely for grilled burgers.
